Job description: BRIGHT Photonics seeks a talented and motivated Photonics System & RF Engineer to develop next‑generation R&D photonic integrated systems in a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities span requirements/specification capture, photonic component design, high‑speed RF interface design, development, verification, and deployment; direct customer/supplier engagement and project definition/management. Senior level with 4+ years experience. Job type: Full Time. Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Location: Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Key responsibilities: Capture/refine photonics system specifications and collaborate with technology providers/customers; design/simulate/model high‑tech system problems (photonics, optical, opto‑mechanical, mechanical, electronic); design/simulation/layout of PICs; design RF interfaces and analyze signal integrity of high‑speed interconnects; plan/perform system and sub‑system tests of opto‑electronic devices; contribute to in‑house high‑speed RF design tools. Key qualifications: M.Sc./Ph.D. in EE/Applied Physics/Opto‑electronics or related; strong fundamentals in physics, opto‑electronics, mechanics, RF/microwave design; knowledge of photonics and integration technologies; experience with PIC/opto‑electronic device design/modeling/layout/characterization; experience with high‑frequency RF substrates/interconnects and EDA/RF tools; excellent English communication; programming in Python or C/C++; independent, proactive, precise, and deadline‑driven. Additional Assets: Industry experience in optical/electronic systems (tele/datacom or aerospace); RF measurements (e.g., VNA); data analysis/management; solid computing skills. What do we offer?
