Job description: BRIGHT Photonics is a design house in integrated photonics. As a Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Test Engineer, you will validate photonic designs, develop test setups, and deliver high‑quality measurement data to customers and internal teams. Work spans LiDAR, quantum communication chips, advanced optical sensors, and emerging photonic integration technologies. Job type: Full Time. Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Location: Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Key responsibilities: Set up and refine optical/electrical measurements for PIC prototypes; develop and improve photonic test benches (lasers, modulators, detectors, RF equipment, optical components); characterize PIC building blocks (lasers, MZ modulators, AWGs, filters, photodiodes, passive structures); automate workflows (Python or similar); analyze/interpret data and report to teams/customers; prepare measurement plans and reports; improve measurement accuracy/throughput/methodology; support customers in optimizing PIC designs. What You Bring: MSc/PhD in Photonics/Physics/EE or related; 2+ years hands‑on PIC testing; experience with optical test equipment (tunable lasers, OSAs, power meters, polarization controllers, VNAs); understanding of SiPh/InP/SiN; strong data analysis/automation skills (Python preferred); familiarity with RF measurements/high‑speed modulators; ability to debug complex opto‑electronic systems; strong English communication; proactive, hands‑on, independent and collaborative. Additional Assets: PCB design; soldering/wire‑bonding; high‑throughput/wafer‑level testing; packaging/cleanroom exposure; contributions to open‑source automation/measurement libraries.
