Wat ga je doen?
During this internship you use the V-model project principle to restore and implement the liquid handler for development. The liquid handler has been acquired as secondhand and is currently not operational but we see potential to use it as testing platform for development and feasibility testing. We also want to extend the functionality beyond what the manufacturer provides, because we have a different use for the device.
The assignment can be divided into two parts: First identify what is required to get the liquid handler operational and running again. Parts can be ordered or printed to get the OT-2 liquid handler working as the manufacturer intended.
Secondly alterations are to be implemented. Depending on the alterations needed and the expertise of the intern this can be in either the hardware and/or software domain. To follow the V-model, these alternation have to be evaluated against the set requirements to verify the improvements. The goal is to have a verified and operational device at the end of the internship.
A possible outline of the project could be:
· Set up requirements for the liquid handler to function as development platform for IVD development
· Investigate if the liquid handler requires any alterations to meet the set requirements
· Design/Source parts required to get the liquid handler operational and/or altered it
· Evaluate the performance of the liquid handler to see if it meets set requirements
