As an Account Engineer, you are technically responsible for the product portfolio of your customers and for introducing new products within your area of work and customer base. In this role, you constantly balance the interests of the customer, the technical feasibility of a project, and the interests of Neways.
You are part of the Customer Focus Team, which also includes sales, planning, and procurement. You are responsible for the projects running within Engineering for your customer, and you ensure proper monitoring and communication of progress related to product introductions. In this role, you will also frequently coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering and Test Engineering. You report directly to the Engineering Manager.

This is what you bring to the team
A technical or business‑oriented bachelor’s degree, for example in (Technical) Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
Demonstrable affinity with technology and work experience in a similar role.
Affinity with and experience in project‑based work.
Experience with production, test development, and business processes and procedures is a plus.
Tactical Skills such as technical project management, technical product release (responsible), Customer contact and Life cycle management.
Operation Skills such as cost price calculation, initial feasibility study (incl product FMEA & Control plan), component engineering, product ownership and BOM Management.
Strong communication skills and the ability to stand your ground.
Problem‑solving abilities, analytical thinking, and the capacity to maintain a clear overview.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English
Your daily responsibilities include

Ensuring from the start of the design phase that the product can be efficiently manufactured and produced according to the specifications agreed upon with the customer.

Communicating with customers about technical content and issues.

Being responsible for the technical progress of product introductions.

Ensuring that the product is well‑developed, manufacturable, and testable.

Overseeing all technical aspects related to evaluating changes in terms of completeness and manufacturability.

Entering data (product information and BOM) into the ERP system and requesting missing components (BOM management and component engineering).

Aligning the technical work with Manufacturing Engineers and Test Engineers.

Assessing and providing advice on “design for excellence.”
