The Product Diagnostic Centers are part of the NXP Quality organization and provide world-class services in Failure, Process & Material Analysis and Quality Problem Solving and Prevention. PDC takes ownership of quality aspects in the whole chain from technology development, problem-solving and customer complaint analysis.
The Physical Failure Analysis team performs physical analysis to understand product failures and helps improve NXP’s technology and processes. The team is composed of dedicated professionals in the field of material and physical analysis. The work of the team has a major impact on the success of NXP. We combine various techniques and expertise to continuously improve our products and processes. We are looking for an intern to increase our expertise.
Your Responsibilities
Performing analyses within a physics laboratory on one of the state-of-the-art tools e.g. Light Microscope, RIE ion etcher, Laser (cutting/ablation), CSAM, Optical profiler, (3D) XRM, SEM, EBSD and EDX.
Optimizing/expanding current measurement methods.
Combine results, conclusions and recommendations in a technical report.

Your profile
Master of Science - last year of (technical) university focusing on Physics, Material Science (metallography/crystallography), Electrical Engineering or similar.
Relevant hands-on experience (practical lab experience from university is sufficient).
Good spoken and written English language (Dutch is a plus).
Team player with a high level of independence.
Strong in communication, interaction, presentation and reporting.
Duration
This is a full-time internship (40 hours per week) with a duration of 6 months or longer. The assignment could also be suitable as a thesis/graduation project.
Please note that in order to be considered for an internship/working student assignment, you need to be registered as a student during the entire period.
