Product Line In-Vehicle Networking is developing innovative and leading-edge networking solutions to enable the megatrends in the automotive industry, electrification, connectivity and autonomous drive. The networking solutions developed in our group are based on CAN, LIN, FlexRay and Ethernet.
For our design support team located in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, we are looking for a highly motivated design engineer who can support NPI (New Product Introductions) and customer complaints with his or her design knowledge.
As design support engineer you will be responsible for the development of bench set-up solutions (HW / SW) that enable characterization of products during NPI or customer complaint handling. Furthermore you will drive the technical analyses of complex customer complaint cases.
The specific job role will include
- Develop HW and SW for bench evaluation set-ups that enable NPI product characterization and customer complaint investigations.
- Coaching and training on product design and bench evaluation set-ups will also be part of the functions
- Interface between NPI R&D teams and complaint handling teams in Asia
- Support complex customer complaint handling by bringing in your product design knowledge. Build network over other design teams and involve them to extend the knowledge to come to the rootcause. Guarantee effective corrective actions (drive the wafer fabs or assembly to come-up with a solution, drive test and DfT engineering to improve test coverage, bring back lessons learned to NPI to make design more robust).
Job Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in electrical engineering (Bachelor / Master).
- Solid design background with (analog design but also digital).
- Experience in HW board design and development.
- Programming skills
- Experience in reliability or qualification and especially the failure mode investigation
- Working in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
Furthermore you:

- Have good problem solving techniques and rootcause analyses
- Are familiar with failure modes in state-of the-art process technologies
- Have good knowledge on electrical and physical failure analyses techniques
- Have good understanding on semiconductor fabrication (wafer fab, assembly and test)
- Have a pragmatic attitude
- Do not have a 9-5 mentality (flexible working hours)
- Can work autonomous in a team
- Have trainer skills to train, coach or advice colleagues
