The Netherlands Senior PIC Characterization Engineer

Introduction
In this role you become part of the Test, Measurement and Reliability team. A diverse and challenging role in which you implement test & characterization procedures, secure a happy customer by accurate feedback on quality and first trails and take the lead in all related problem solving and characterization requests.

Role and Responsibilities
- Electrical and Optical characterization of photonic integrated circuits (PICs) at device and die level
- Design and implement test & characterization procedures for new PIC building blocks
- Interpret and develop agile test plans for faster feedback on customer and quality return characterization requests
- Contribute as a characterization lead into 8D problem solving and Tiger teams and provide device and characterization expertise
- Organise and analyse data to find patterns which indicate improvement to our designs and processes
- Implement control and automation routines (python or other S/W packages) in the characterization tools as applicable
- Collect the input you need from all stake holders in our PIC development, commercial and quality
- Provide expert assessment of characterization data and analysis to internal customers (RD, commercial and quality teams
- Technical management of own projects, lead project teams and coach / guide less senior colleagues.
Skills Required
- PhD in Optics, Photonics, Applied Physics or Materials science.
- AFTER PhD a Minimum of 3+ years of Experience in device / die-level characterization in a photonics lab / fab environment.
- Strong photonics device background preferably in photonic integrated circuits
- Experienced for 5+ years in test hardware (SMUs, OSA, optical fiber) and software (Python or LabView)
- Experience Integration/calibration of hardware and software models into a laboratory environment.
- Technical management of a laboratory setup, including support for customer trials
- A Team player who easily communications on different levels.
