Then joins us in this mission by become our first intern in the Sales team!

The Commerce team at SMART Photonics consists of five Key Account Managers (KAMs) and Sales Support Coordinator.

Each person drives business growth by translating complex technical solutions into value-based proposals, managing the entire customer lifecycle from initial technical engagement to long-term contract fulfillment.

What will you do?

The intern will join the Sales team supporting customer-facing and operational sales processes. You will work closely with Sales Support Coordinator, Key Account Managers (KAMs), Finance, Operations, and Design Enablement teams to ensure smooth order handling and customer communication.

The aim of this internship is improving and maintaining efficient customer communication and internal sales processes. The focus is on daily operational support and continuous improvement sales funnel workflows.

Main responsibilities:

  • Customer communication (email follow-ups, status updates, basic inquiries)

  • Order processing and updates in CRM (Dynamics 365)

  • Supporting the sales funnel flow (lead → opportunity → order)

  • Monitoring data quality and completeness in CRM

  • Assisting with process improvements and documentation

Expected end result:

  • Accurate and up-to-date CRM data

  • Improved efficiency in order processing

  • Structured and well-documented sales funnel processes

  • Recommendations for improvement of customer communication and workflows

Job requirements

What are the requirements for this internship?

  • Student needs to be enrolled in an Education institution in the Netherlands;

  • Start date is flexible, end of August or beginning of September;

  • Available to come to the office, work 3-5 days per week, for a minimum of 10 weeks;

  • Master or Bachelor degree in a commercial field, can be combined with more technical education;

  • This internship is not suitable for thesis work - it’s practical;

  • Motivated, eager and with good communication skills in English;

  • This internship does NOT offer housing or VISA application options.

You will learn from motivated, open colleagues, while having the opportunity to explore the practical commercial side of the Photonics industry.
